Product Compatibility & Customer ResponsibilityUpdated a day ago

Overview

Sanitary fittings, gaskets, and tubing must be compatible with your process, equipment, and standards. This includes correct sizing, connection style, material grade, pressure/temperature ratings, and gasket selection.

Because every system is different, PNW Sanitary cannot confirm compatibility for each unique installation. Final verification of fit and suitability rests with the customer.

What “Compatibility” Means for Sanitary Products

When selecting products, please verify all of the following as applicable:

  • Connection type: Tri-Clamp, I-Line, John Perry, Bevel Seat, or Butt-Weld
  • Size and dimensions: tube OD, ferrule size, clamp size, and gasket size
  • Material grade: 304 vs 316L stainless steel, gasket material (Buna, EPDM, PTFE, FKM, etc.)
  • Surface finish: suitability for your process and regulatory requirements
  • Pressure and temperature ratings: process conditions, CIP/SIP cycles, and cleaning chemistry
  • Standards and specifications: 3-A, ASME BPE, or internal plant standards where applicable

Customer Responsibility

It is the customer’s responsibility to verify that the items in their cart are compatible with their application and with each other.

PNW Sanitary is not liable for:

  • Orders containing mismatched or incompatible products
  • Incorrect sizes, connection types, or gasket materials selected during checkout
  • System design or application issues outside our control

Shipping charges will not be refunded for correctly shipped orders that are later found to be incompatible with the customer’s equipment or process.

How We Can Help Before You Order

Our team is happy to assist with product selection questions, including:

  • Clarifying catalog dimensions and connection styles
  • Reviewing basic sizing (tube OD, ferrule size, clamp size)
  • Discussing general gasket material behavior (temperature, chemicals, cleaning)

However, we cannot approve or certify a design, guarantee performance in a specific system, or assume responsibility for final product selection.

If an Order Was Placed with Incompatible Items

If you discover that items are not compatible after ordering:

  • Eligible, unused items may be returned under our standard 30-day return policy
  • All applicable restocking fees and packaging requirements still apply
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable

When to Contact Us

If you are unsure about compatibility before placing an order, contact our support team with:

  • A brief description of your application
  • Any existing fitting or tubing sizes you are trying to match
  • Process conditions (temperature, cleaning method, and media where relevant)

We can help you interpret product data and sizing information so you can make an informed selection.

Summary

PNW Sanitary provides detailed product information and support, but final responsibility for compatibility rests with the customer. Please verify connection style, size, material, and process conditions before placing an order.
